No More Village Land Will Be Acquired Forcefully: Jain
BJP Candidate from Chandigarh Parliamentary constituency Mr Satya Pal Jain today said the Congress party has not done anything for the villages of the Union Territory of Chandigarh and has actually hurt their interests by doling out false promises. Calling Congress an anti-village and anti-people party, Mr Jain said on coming to power at the centre BJP will ensure that no more village land is acquired forcefully, village laldora will be extended and houses built on own land outside laldora will be regularised.
Recalling that nine panchayats have been abolished in the Union territory of Chandigarh during the congress rule Mr Jain assured that BJP would not dissolve any panchayats. He promised that BJP would strengthen the panchayat system to ensure good governance in the villages. Addressing people during his padyatra of village Behlana Mr Jain said during its five year rule the congress party MP of Chandigarh has not fulfilled any of his promises and has betrayed every section of people.
In the afternoon Mr Jain performed padyatra in Markets of Sector 15 and Panjab University campus and listend to the problems of the shopkeepers and shoppers. He flagged off a Cycle Rally from the party office (KAMLAM), Sector 33-A. He also addressed several public meetings and attended small meeting to interact with the people about issues of their concern. Mr Jain said Congress party has been showing letters from the union government suggesting crores of rupees will be paid to farmers as compensation for every acre of acquired land but in actual practice farmer has got no more then 10–12 lakh rupees per acre. This, Mr Jain said, is designed to befool people to get their votes. Mr Jain said people have seen that congress has failed on all fronts and due to infighting for full five years and congress party’s game and will surely teach it a lesson.
