Australian Davis cup team drop-out is fallout of weakness of Congress UPA govt : BJP
Expressing concern on Australian decision of not sending the Davis cup team to India Mr Sanjay Tandon, General Secretary of Chandigarh State BJP today said its is a fallout of the decision of the Congress UPA govt at the centre to disallow IPL tournament in India due to security reasons. He condemned the union government decision to not provide security to IPL matches and allowing IPL management to shift the matches to South Africa.
In a statement issued here Mr Tandon said this feeble response of the Manmohan Singh Government had sent a wrong message to the world – that India is not in a position to provide security to sports events. Like the decision of ICC to shift world cup cricket matches from Pakistan the Australian decision will be seen as a sign of a weak state. Mr Tandon expressed apprehension that if India does not send a signal to the world that it is not a weak state, even Commonwealth Games may be shifted out or postponed causing grave damage to the image of India.
Mr Tandon said these weak kneed policies have caused grave damage to the image of India at a time when people are electing a new government – this is signal to the people of India to elect a strong government. He appealed to voters of Chandigarh to think about this issue and caste their vote for strong leaders and a decisive government.
