Jain puts Cong MP in dock for loss of Mega projects, corruption
Says Congress party must name those responsible for getting vigilance enquiry ordered, records sealed.
BJP Candidate from Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency Mr Satya Pal Jain today put his Congress rival in the dock by raising questions about all the four mega projects started during the last five years being put in cold storage. He was addressing various public rallies and talking to citizens during his padyatra of sector 27 and market of 22D.
Mr Jain said the local MP and union minister says laying-out of parks etc from MP local area development fund is development. Mr Jain said all four mega projects, including the film city, launched in Chandigarh are hanging fire. He said “Film city” would have given opportunity to north Indian film artists to use their talent in Chandigarh itself, “Medi city” would have provided better health facilities to people of Chandigarh and surrounding areas while Unitech would have created a world class amusement park in Chandigarh.
He asked the minister to answer as to who got the union home ministry to stall these projects and order vigilance inquiry in to these projects? He said even today all for mega projects are under vigilance enquiry and their records are sealed. He said if there have been scams in these projects then who is responsible for the same the union minister of state or the Chandigarh administrator appointed by the Congress party? He said in fact the statement s of the minister are a condemnation of his own government – if Chandigarh administration is involved in corruption union government is directly responsible and he is very much a part of that government.
Mr Satya Pal Jain blamed Congress of indulging in falsehood by seeking votes in the name of development. After the loss of these mega projects from the city and sealing of the records of the projects it does not lie in their mouths to say that no corruption has happened. They must tell people who is responsible for loss of these projects which would have brought hundreds of jobs to this city and would have improved the economy of Chandigarh.
Mr Jain today took his campaign to villages Buterla, Kajheri, Dadumajra and Dhanas. In the afternoon he addressed employees in sector 17.
